SafetyWing (YC W18) is seeking a Head of Talent Growth to help shape the future of our organization by aligning people development with our strategic direction. This is a unique role for someone who thrives at the intersection of training and coaching, organizational design, and high-level problem solving.
You’ll work closely with the founders to ensure our people systems and development strategies support our long-term vision. From facilitating leadership training to shaping org structure and co-creating personalized career paths, you’ll play a key role in helping our team grow - both individually and collectively. This is a strategic individual contributor role - you’ll collaborate across the people function to shape a cohesive and joyful team experience.
We are on a mission to remove the role of geographical borders as a barrier to equal opportunities and freedom for everyone. And we are doing that by creating simple health, insurance, and retirement products for remote workers worldwide as a replacement for national welfare systems.

💻 Your responsibilities will include
- Advising founders and leaders on people strategy (talent development, effective management, etc.) that fuels our growth
- Ensure every team is set up for success through thoughtful org design, team composition, and development support
- Define what great performance looks like and support the team in meeting those standards
- Identify underperformance early and recommend coaching, structural changes, or transitions where needed
- Create feedback loops to regularly gather insights from team members and use them to guide improvements in team experience and leadership
- Designing and running team-wide workshops on feedback, collaboration, and leadership
- Coaching team members to co-create personal growth paths aligned with our scale and team goals
- Collaborating cross-functionally to unblock people-related bottlenecks

- Has built or scaled talent programs in high-growth, mission-driven companies
- Brings strong systems thinking and connects people practices to business outcomes
- Is energized by coaching, facilitating, and empowering people to grow
- Strong communicator with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Has experience designing and leading high-impact training or coaching programs
- Is comfortable advising founders and leaders on both strategic and people topics
- Uses feedback, metrics, and data to evaluate impact and guide improvements
