Join our team as Lens Development Engineer

We’re looking for a Lens Development Engineer to join the team developing a key part of our product: the lens. In this role, you’ll design new and improved lens iterations, using measurements and data from previous versions to guide your work.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop new adaptive lens designs combining traditional optics and liquid crystal technology

• Build, test, and validate designs through hands-on measurements and analysis in the lab

• Work in a continuous loop of prototyping, learning, and improving designs

• Try out new ideas and approaches, even if they are unconventional

• Turn optical concepts into practical solutions that can be manufactured

• Collaborate closely with product, mechanics, manufacturing and lab teams to bring designs to life

• Help bring our current lens to production and then contribute to developing the next generation

• Share progress, ideas, insights, and challenges openly with the team
  

What You Bring

• A background in physics, materials science, optics, photonics or a similar field

• Programming skills, ideally in Python

• Hands-on experience with optical design, testing, or experimental work

• Ability and interest in working practically, not just theoretically

• A curious and experimental mindset, with a willingness to learn and iterate quickly

• Good communication skills and a collaborative way of working

• Comfort working in an environment where things are still evolving

• Ability working in English and onsite in our Espoo office
