Role: Finance Operations Analyst
Team: Finance
Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days/wk in-person at one of Digitail’s hubs – 🇨🇦 Toronto, 🇬🇧 London, or 🇷🇴 Iași & Bucharest.
Location: Toronto, Canada
About Digitail
Digitail is on a mission to transform the veterinary profession with smart, customer-driven technology. We’re building the all-in-one operating system for animal hospitals – simplifying everything from client communication and patient care to scheduling and billing. Having just closed a Series B fundraise, we’re entering an exciting new chapter of growth and innovation.
We’re seeking a Finance Operations Analyst to help us scale and strengthen our internal financial operations as we grow. This is a key cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of finance, ops, and systems — ideal for someone highly analytical, detail-oriented, and excited to build scalable processes in a fast-moving SaaS startup.
About the Role
As a Finance Operations Analyst, you’ll own, operate, and continuously improve core finance processes like billing, collections, financial reporting, and reconciliation. You’ll work closely with our Finance Lead, CEO, Founder’s Associate, and external accounting partners to ensure timely and accurate financial data that drives key business decisions.
This role is both strategic and operational—you’ll zoom in on details (invoices, reconciliations, data clean-up) and zoom out to improve systems (automation, dashboards, process design). A successful person in this role will help us move from reactive to proactive finance operations.
Responsibilities
- Billing & Revenue Operations: Manage end-to-end customer billing, Accounts Receivable follow-ups, and process automation, occasionally coordinating with Customer Success to resolve client billing issues.
- Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: support monthly reporting, reconciliations with external accountants, and ad hoc financial analysis & adjustments with leadership.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Lead scalable tooling and process enhancements across finance ops, with a focus on documentation and data quality.
About You
- 2–4 years of experience: you’ve spent time in the trenches of financial ops, accounting, or FP&A, ideally in a startup or SaaS environment, and know what good looks like
- High attention to detail: you notice when numbers don’t line up, spot formatting quirks in reports, and make sure everything ties out cleanly before it goes out
- Tool experience: you’re fluent in tools like Stripe, QuickBooks, Google Sheets, Notion, and HubSpot (or similar!) and can troubleshoot without needing a how-to guide
- Analytical thinking & problem solving: when revenue doesn’t reconcile or a report looks off, you break it down logically and spot where things went wrong
- Worked with accounting teams: you know how to package information clearly and anticipate what external accountants or auditors will ask for
- High initiative: you’re proactive, ask questions when needed, and keep things moving without hand-holding
- Ownership mindset: you’re excited by the chance to take real ownership – when you see something that could work better, you run with it and make a visible impact
- Continuous improvement mindset: you enjoy bringing structure to messy workflows, untangling unclear handoffs, and making things run smoother for everyone involved
- Bonus – automation & systems: maybe you’ve set up a Zapier flow, helped roll out a new finance tool, or figured out how to streamline cross-border invoices
Why Join Digitail
- Growth: Join a fast-growing, mission-driven SaaS startup improving the lives of veterinarians and pet parents
- Impact: you’ll have the autonomy to take initiative, drive meaningful change, and grow by doing – without layers of bureaucracy slowing you down
- Compensation: competitive salary and equity package, flexible to your preferences (i.e., optimize for PTO, salary, or equity)
- Hybrid Work: we’ve transitioned from fully-remote to a hybrid model, giving team members the chance to collaborate in-person at least three days a week from one of our hubs: 🇨🇦 Toronto, 🇬🇧 London, or 🇷🇴 Iași & Bucharest
