We are building a leading all-in-one operating system for animal hospitals that helps veterinarians on a daily basis to efficiently manage client communication, patient data, medical records, schedules, and billing.

Since being founded, Digitail has grown to over 65 people and raised a Series A of over $11 million led by renowned investors Atomico (series A) and Gradient Ventures (seed round). Digitail is co-founded by Sebastian Gabor and Ruxandra Pui.
The Opportunity!
Our business has grown globally in the last five years. To build foundations for continued market scale, we are looking to hire a Financial Controller who will have the opportunity to build out Digitail’s finance function from first principles.
As Digitail’s Financial Controller you will build budgets and forecasts, cash management processes and financial reporting as well as play a leadership role with our founders supporting financial success. This opportunity plays a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and continued growth of Digitail.
Important to know!
You will be responsible for overseeing finance operations across Europe, USA, Canada and South Africa. This opportunity is our first qualified finance hire, therefore you will design and build what finance resources are needed and create the vision for the organisation.
At first you will manage all finance operations and be hands-on across cash reconciliation, payroll, management accounts and compliance, with the opportunity to grow the finance team and within the role in coming years.
It requires an experienced finance leader with a strong understanding of global finance practices, and the ability to adapt to the challenges of our startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and implement financial operations for our business. Creating policies and procedures to drive the company's financial health
Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and business plans to guide decision-making processes
Manage the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
Partner closely with our co-founders to build robust financial planning and financial controls
Implement our first accounting software and reporting capability for the business to monitor financial performance and provide insights
Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards
Build reports to connect financial planning and performance to our investors and external partners
Manage invoicing, payroll and cash flow processes for our US and European operations
Own relationships with our third party bookkeepers in Romania and US, ensuring timely and accurate filings
Your Experience:
Qualified accountant background with proven experience in a finance leadership role
Experience in a start up/scale up environment building a finance function
Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting
Effective stakeholder management experience - partnering with C Level and Investors in previous positions
Analytical and data led mindset - operationalises financial data to build impactful business strategy
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving startup culture.
Experience in building and managing an international finance operation is a plus
Experience in a SaaS business is a plus
